For GrC 439: Book Design, I had to design a book jacket for an existing novel. I went with my favorite book: Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I wanted the look to encompass the widely creative fantasy world the story takes place in, while evoking a sense of mystery to draw in readers. Another project for Book Design was to take a plain text manuscript of an existing novel, and lay it out (utilizing techniques with paragraph styles and GREP), formatting it to our liking, before printing and hand binding it. I chose Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, and bound it using a burnt orange buckram, with a grey leather spine.
